The 904 Naturalist program

This program is a four part series exploring different subjects, each part will consist of three consecutive weeks of research and adventure. During each three week session there will be classroom sessions that will take place at the Main Library, as well as field trips that will be held at local natural areas and parks for hands-on instruction.

Exploring the Life of Plants and Trees (904 Naturalist Series part 4)

Identifying plants can be a difficult study. However, there are tools you will learn in this class that can make it easier for the local naturalist. During this project you will research 10 native plants and trees in their habitats. Learning about plants and the habitats they live in is important to understand the ecology of the area and how the fine-tuned system works together. Studying plants, soil and water we have discovered there is a relationship also with the animals and birds. Science is also now discovering that plants are more aware of their surrounding that once was thought.
