Date and time
We're an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books.
About this event
The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in about 90 seconds.
For over 10 years we've screened the best kid-made movies annually in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and many other cities—and now, right here in Boulder!
Make your FREE reservation for the BOULDER screening of this year's 90-Second Newbery! The screening is hosted by James Kennedy (author of the YA fantasy The Order of Odd-Fish and the new adult speculative thriller Dare to Know).
We'll be showing movies made by kids in the Boulder area and some of the best from around the country!
This year, the Boulder 90-Second Newbery will screen on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 3-4:30 pm in the Canyon Theater at the main branch of the Boulder Public Library.
Tickets are free! However, we recommend reserving your seat in advance to ensure admittance. Although a reservation is recommended, you don't have to bring a printed ticket.
