Event description

Description

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in about 90 seconds.

For the past eight years we've screened the best kid-made movies annually in New York, Chicago, Boston, and many other cities—including right here in San Francisco!

Make your FREE reservation for the SAN FRANCISCO screening of this year's 90-Second Newbery! The screening is hosted by children's authors James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and Marcus Ewert (Mr. Pack Rat Really Wants That, Mummy Cat, and more).

We'll be showing movies made by kids in the Bay Area and some of the best from around the country.

This year, the San Francisco 90-Second Newbery will screen on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 2-3:30 pm in the Koret auditorium at the main branch of the San Francisco Public Library.

Tickets are free! However, we recommend reserving your seat in advance to ensure admittance. Although a reservation is recommended, you don't have to bring a printed ticket.

(Interested in making your own 90-Second Newbery movie? You can find complete details, plus video resources, at the 90-Second Newbery website: http://www.90secondnewbery.com.)

We rely on your support to keep the 90-Second Newbery going! If you like what we do, please consider making a donation here.
