Event description

Description

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in about 90 seconds.

For seven years we've screened the best kid-made movies annually in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and many other cities—and starting this year, right here in Salem!

Make your FREE reservation for the SALEM screening of this year's 90-Second Newbery! The screening is hosted by children's authors James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and Heidi Schulz (Hook's Revenge, Giraffes Ruin Everything).

We'll be showing movies made by kids in Salem and some of the best from around the country.

This year, the Salem 90-Second Newbery will screen on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 6-7:30 pm at the Salem Public Library, in the Loucks Auditorium. James's and Heidi's books will be available for sale, and you can hang out with the authors and filmmakers!

Tickets are free! However, we recommend reserving your seat in advance to ensure admittance. Although a reservation is recommended, you don't have to bring a printed ticket.

(Interested in making your own 90-Second Newbery for next year? You can find complete details, plus video resources, at the 90-Second Newbery website: http://www.90secondnewbery.com.)

We rely on your support to keep the 90-Second Newbery going! If you like what we do, please consider making a donation here.
