Event description

Description

Welcome to the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival—a yearly video contest in which kid filmmakers create weird short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in about 90 seconds.

For seven years we've screened the best kid-made movies annually in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and many other cities—and now right here in Salt Lake City!

Make your FREE reservation for the SALT LAKE CITY screening of this year's 90-Second Newbery! The screening is hosted by children's authors James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and Keir Graff (The Matchstick Castle).

The movies we've received are hilarious, ingenious, and inspiring. We'll be showing movies made by kids in Salt Lake City and the best from around the country.

This year, the Salt Lake City 90-Second Newbery will screen on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 2-4 pm at the Salt Lake City Public Library (210 East 400 South).

Tickets are free! However, we recommend reserving your seat in advance to ensure admittance. This thing sells out every year!

Want to make a movie for next year? You can find complete details, plus video resources, at the 90-Second Newbery website: http://www.90secondnewbery.com.

We rely on your donations to keep going. If want us to keep doing this, please help us out! We run this film festival on a shoestring. No donation is too small. You can make your tax-deductible donation here. The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is under the fiscal sponsorship of Fractured Atlas 501(c)(3).
