Fishing Tournament

Tournament Rules:

  • The tournament is open to all anglers with a valid fishing license.
  • Official tournament hours are from 6:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. the day of the tournament, rain or shine.
  • Wade, bank, surf, jetties, pier or any legal means of fishing is permissible; however, NO SAIL LINES OR TROTLINES are permitted.
  • Official weigh-in starts at 2:00 p.m. and ends at 4:00 p. m. the day of the tournament at Fulton Harbor Park. All anglers must be IN LINE before 4 p.m.
  • There will be four Divisions: Men’s Guided, Women’s Guided, Men’s Non-Guided, and Women’s Non-Guided Divisions.
  • Cash payouts for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places in each of the following categories: Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Black Drum.
  • Each angler may pick ONE category to weigh in ONE fish. Anglers MAY NOT enter more than one category.
  • NO OVERSIZED RED DRUM WILL BE WEIGHED IN, TAGGED OR NOT.
  • NO BLACK DRUM OVER 30 INCHES WILL BE WEIGHED IN.
  • Heaviest fish wins.
  • In the case of a tie, winner will be decided by length. If length is equal, winner will be decided by time with the winner being the first fish weighed in.

Eligibility:

  1. All anglers must have a valid Texas fishing license.
  2. Any angler who wishes to fish in the company of a professional fishing guide during tournament hours must enter a Guided Division only. If it is found an angler fished in the company of a professional guide during tournament hours and they were not signed up in a Guided Division the angler will be disqualified from the tournament as well as future tournaments.
  3. Men’s Divisions may only be entered by Male anglers.
  4. Women’s Divisions may only be entered by Female anglers.
  5. All anglers must be 12 years of age or older.
  6. All state and federal penal code and game laws shall apply at all times.
  7. All Texas, Coast Guard and State Parks and Wildlife regulations shall apply at all times.
  8. Each angler must be a paid entrant of the tournament and must abide by all tournament rules and regulations.
  9. Tournament directors retain the right to refuse any entry.

Weigh-in/Sportsmanship:

1. All fish weighed in and entered must be caught during official tournament hours on the day of the tournament.

  1. All fish presented for weigh-in will be monitored for freshness and will be inspected by a Texas Game Warden or Biologist.
  2. NO OVER SIZED RED DRUM WILL BE WEIGHED IN, TAGGED OR NOT!
  3. NO BLACK DRUM OVER 30 INCHES WILL BE WEIGHED IN!
  4. All fish must be weighed-in by the entrant who originally caught the fish and must be in that entrant’s physical possession at the time of the weigh-in.
  5. Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation are expected from all entrants.
  6. All game laws of the state of Texas, applicable to fishing on public waters, must be followed. Any violations will be cause for immediate disqualification. Any and all winnings will be forfeited.
  7. Any and all winners may be subject to and required to pass a polygraph test at the discretion of the TGWA Board of Directors.
  8. Any entrant found to be in violation of any tournament rules and regulations will be subject to disqualification from this tournament and all future tournaments.

ALL DECISIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS AND WEIGH MASTER ARE FINAL.

Registration and entry fee:

  1. Entry for all eligible anglers is $100.00.
  2. Absolutely no refund of entry fees will be issued.
  3. Any entry received after the May 25, 2017 deadline will be $120.00. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Liability: Texas Game Warden Association, T.G.W.A Directors and the town of Fulton are not liable for any accidents, injuries, losses or mishaps.
