8TH ANNUAL LAAAC SUMMIT ON AGING
Fri, June 2, 2017, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM PDT
MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
The Los Angeles Aging Advocacy Coalition (LAAAC) is pleased to present the 8th Annual Summit on Aging. This one-day Summit convenes more than 400 attendees, including elected officials, policy makers, community organizations and leaders, and government agencies and companies who have a stake in the issue of America’s aging population.
The theme of this year’s conference, “Living & Thriving” will focus on the personal experiences of aging in LA. Emphasis will be placed on local implications under President Trump’s Administration and the importance of building alliances with new advocacy partners, such as groups focused on immigration, labor and the faith-based community. Our vision is to encourage dynamic collaborations and strengthen our efforts to inform, educate and engage on policies that support older adults and their caregivers.
New to the Summit this year, we will be showcasing the Going Gray in LA art exhibit and video series, including a fireside chat with the KCRW journalists who produced it.
By attending the Summit, you will gain a greater understanding of the impact of current and emerging policies on the lives of older adults, and increase your understanding of what action steps can be taken to help preserve essential programs and services.
The 8th Annual LAAAC Summit on Aging will feature dynamic speakers from the public and private sectors, as well as panel discussions designed to stimulate a vibrant dialogue about pertinent issues and "how to" best promote change.
