80 To Work CNC Program

The Economic Development and Corporate Training Division of Greenville Technical College is partnering with Machining Training Solutions (MTS) to offer 80 To Work CNC Program, an intensive two-week training designed to deliver an entry-level skill set for CNC Level “C” machinist. Specific training areas include geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), ISO standards, safety, Metrology, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, 5S, math for machining, tooling, CNC control panel, reading blueprints and fixtures.

Students will engage in a combination of hands-on work, machining, and simulation work that will provide the basic skills needed to operate any CNC machine. After completing the program, individuals will be skilled and qualified to work in a manufacturing company as an entry-level CNC operator.

Qualified applicants can receive up to $6,000 in scholarship funds for training.

November 6-17, 2017

January 16-29, 2018

February 12-23, 2018

March 19-30, 2018


Location: Greenville Technical College Center for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI)


To be eligible you must:

  • Attend an 80 To Work CNC Information Session
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a South Carolina resident
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Score Silver Level or higher on the WorkKeys assessment
  • Provide evidence of a recent (within seven days) "clear" 10-Panel drug screen
