About this event
These walks have been made possible by funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund.
All walks will begin and end at the Bowler Street entrance to Highfield Country Park.
The family walks will be led by David Winnard, founder of Discover the Wild, who is passionate about the natural world and teaching people understand nature better and identify the world within it.
The Mindful nature identification walks will led by Lilasuri, founder of Wild Awake Mindfulness, and include identifying tree species and enjoying getting to know nature by bringing more intentional awareness to our surroundings
Mindful nature identification walks
Join a friendly group of adults for a guided mindful walk around the beautiful Highfield Country Park, Levenshulme. During the walk we will stop to pay attention to the sights, sounds and smells of nature, identifying tree species and enjoying getting to know nature by bringing more intentional awareness to our surroundings. The walk is suitable for adults who are new to nature identification and to Highfield Country Park, and we will be walking no more than a mile with stops in-between. Your guide for the walk is Lilasuri, founder of Wild Awake Mindfulness, nature connection guide and an ordained Buddhist.
Family Walks
Join David Winnard from Discover the Wild to find out more this half term about the wildlife within Highfield Country Park. Autumn is a great time to identify trees through their wonderful colour, we will listen out for birds and see what mushrooms we can find in the park.
Accessibility
Please wear sensible footwear, as paths can be muddy and uneven in places. Please contact the organisers if you have specific access needs. The entrance for the walk is not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately.
