Event description

The 7th Annual MBC Conference is a day-long multi-presentation event dedicated to metastatic breast cancer for those living with advanced or Stage IV breast cancer.

Speakers are medical professionals with respected resumes as well as metastatic patients. From treatment options and research breakthroughs, to coping solutions, the conference program is guided by input from the metastatic community. Breakfast and lunch is served, a mixer environment precedes the opening session and concludes the day. There are tables provided free to local resources and support organizations, an impressive display of art by metastatic patients and poster presentations by research scientists.

The conference on January 4, 2020 will allow you to select programs based on your patient status: newly diagnosed; intermediate; advocate/mentor.

Newly diagnosed patients and patients requiring interpretation (less than a year since diagnosis) will learn the basics of metastatic breast cancer, what the patient needs to know and how to work with a medical team ;

Intermediate patients (one to two years since diagnosis) will learn about financial and legal issues, palliative care, coping strategies and clinical trials;

Patient advocates/mentors (two years plus since diagnosis) have an understanding of what it means to live with breast cancer and may be ready to mentor other patients or help initiate change through advocacy.

Use the definitions above as guidelines. There are no hard and fast rules as to which session you can attend. You get to choose. We simply need an idea of who will participate in each group so space can be allocated properly.

This year the conference will have on-site translation and live streaming for multiple languages: Mandarin, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean. If you require translation, please indicate the language needed in the registration section of this invitation.
