Dance Parade presents the 7th annual International Dance Day!
Guests will enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment reflecting the diversity of age, ethnicity and dance genres found in the tri-state area. International Dance Day highlights groups who have registered for the upcoming parade and previews what is to come as the quintessential “taste of Dance Parade”.
Proceeds from International Dance Day will directly support production costs associated with Dance Parade’s annual parade and its culminating festival at Tompkins Square Park. This year, part of the procceds will also support Dance Parade’s new Community Engagement Education Program! (for more info go danceparade.org)

Our mission is to promote dance as an expressive and unifying art form by showcasing all forms of dance, educating the general public about the opportunity to experience dance and celebrate the diversity of dance
On Saturday May 17, 2014 over 10,000 dancers will converge on the streets of New York City showcasing 65 forms of dance in a free outdoor dance parade and festival!
The parade route starts on 21st street, where we will boogie our way down Broadway, hula, swing and Irish step our way past Union Square and into University Place. At 8th Street we will Salsa, Tango and Waltz East into Saint Marks Street. Our House, Techno and Disco floats will have afternoon shoppers wigglin as they watch us get down in the heart of the East Village. A straight shot from there brings us to DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park. At DanceFest we will come together and watch free dance performances on stage and at specific sites throughout the park--Free dance lessons are offered or you can enjoy a Dance Party.
