7th Annual Conference on Integrated Computing and STEM Education
Sat, November 4, 2017, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM PDT
The 7th Annual Integrated Computing and STEM Education Conference addresses the issues related to teaching integrated computing, science, technology, engineering, and math (C-STEM) in K-14 and the created synergy which increases student interest and helps them learn STEM subjects. The conference provides a forum for K-14 STEM teachers, researchers, educators, policy makers, and industrial partners to discuss and influence the future direction of integrated computing and STEM education.
The conference offers a first-hand opportunity to examine the groundbreaking work of the C-STEM Center on Integrated Computing and STEM Education in formal, afterschool, and informal settings; and review the evidence for their impact on increasing student motivation and achievement in STEM subjects, closing the achievement gap, and improving college and career-readiness skills.
We will be presenting the following awards during the Conference:
C-STEM Teacher of the Year Awards recognize C-STEM teachers for their exceptional contributions in teaching computing, integrating computing into STEM subjects, and inspiring students to pursue careers and post-secondary study in C-STEM fields. Award recipients are selected by the C-STEM Awards Committee consisting of the university faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
C-STEM Service Award recognizes C-STEM volunteers for their unusual dedicated voluntary service to the C-STEM program by outstanding performance, demonstrated effective leadership, prolonged and committed service, devotion, enthusiasm and faithfulness. Award recipients are selected by the C-STEM Awards Committee consisting of the university faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
C-STEM School of the Year Awards are presented to schools for achieving the excellence in integrated learning with computing and STEM subjects, and provide all their students with computer programming experience in the formal education. The school recognized as a C-STEM School of the Year will receive $500 check from the sponsors of the award. The award recipients are selected by the C-STEM Executive Committee.
