Event Details

“Emergency preparedness is a team sport”  Eric Whitaker

This year's forum will focus on preparing the whole community.  Leaders will gain a better understanding of:

  • Safety and security measures regarding preventing violent extremism

  • Preparedness for people with disabilities, access and functional needs

  • The community’s role in receiving and distributing donations during response and recovery

This is an opportunity to strengthen partnerships and relationships with one another before the next disaster strikes!

Senator Mike Morrell and Building Resilient Communities invite faith, community, government, business and education leaders to come together to discuss how to make our communities safer.

Schedule:

Check-in/Continental Breakfast (8:00am - 9:00am)

Program (9:00am - 3:00pm)

Building Resilient Communities

Building Resilient Communities is a public benefit nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. We provide education and training programs for community and faith based organizations in the areas of disaster preparedness and business start up.

Disaster Preparedness education and training includes our Ark of Safety program which helps community and faith based organizations get prepared for a disaster and, encourages the families and communities they serve to do the same. Our Community and Faith Based Coalition is a network of organizations willing to act as central points of safety, refuge, and support for their communities during and after a disaster. Our Community Partnership Program is the collaboration of public and private business, responder and government agencies as well as community and faith based organizations for an integrated approach to preparation, response and recovery within communities.
