Description

The 79th Annual Turkey Night Grand Prix is one of the most talked about events in the USAC Midget racing industry. Held in beautiful Ventura, right on the beach, this venue is spectacular for the prestigious 98 lap main event. An added bonus, our grandstand seats have a back rest so you are more comfortable. Weather is always unknown as we are located right on the beach. Be prepared for anything, wear layers!

On Wednesday, November 27th, the Midgets practice all during the evening while the USAC/VRA Sprint Cars run their hot laps, qualifying, heat races and a special main event for an additional purse. Some of the drivers in that main event gain a "seat" in the A Main the following night, Turkey Night.

On Thursday, some of our double duty drivers are now really put to the test! The schedule calls for Sprints to continue their program of Semi Mains and the A Main event, while Midgets run through their entire program.

You do not want to miss this! NASCAR drivers, such as Christopher Bell (2017 & 2018 winner), Kyle Larson (2016 winner) will compete, with most of the USAC top drivers in the nation.

FAQs

What time do the Grandstands & Pits open?

Pit gates typically open at 11am for all pit pass holders. A pit sweep will be done shortly after to ensure that all pit pass holders have a pit pass. Grandstands open at 3pm.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Anyone can attend this event as a fan in the Grandstands. However, to enter the Pits, the minimum age is 16 years old. At all race events, we do allow all Grandstand fans into the pits AFTER the race night has commenced, which gives all fans an opportunity to meet their favorite drivers, get autographs and buy merchandise directly from them!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We do have parking on-site for $8, however, due to the number of cars, sometimes our Pits extend further than during our normal race season. The parking may be a little further away and some walking may be required.

Where do I pick up my Reserved tickets at and when?

If you are a Reserved Seat Holder, tickets are available on Wednesday or Thursday at the right of the pit office at our table, the same location as last year. You will need your name to pickup the tickets.

Yes, we have the Pit Stands, located next to the staging area, which is standing room only. We have have designated Section 10 in the Grandstands, located on the side closest to the pits for all Pit Pass Holders as well.

What can I bring into the event?

You can bring a small ice chest with drinks (water, soda, etc.) and food to the grandstand area. Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted in both the Grandstands and the Pits. No exceptions!

What is allowed in the Pits?

You can bring in outside food and drinks (water, soda, etc.). Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted! Any Pit Pass Holders that try to re-enter the pits that are carrying an alcoholic beverage or are under the influence will have their Pit Pass removed immediately. No exceptions!

Is my dog allowed in the Pits?

Yes, you may bring your dog in the pits, after signing a Pet Release of Liability form upon entry at the Pit Office. All pets must be kept on a leash and kept in your pit area ONLY. Pets are not allowed to be walking around the Pits, in the Staging Area, the Pit Stands, etc.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Due to the high number of calls for this event, you may have to leave a message but we will return your call as soon as possible.

What's the refund policy?

We do not offer refunds after the purchase is complete.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not have to bring your order confirmation to the Will Call Window on the day of the event. The order will be under the name you registered under at the time of the order. The Will Call Window is located right next to the Pit Office and is open on Wednesday and Thursday at 11am. Should you need to change the name on the ticket order, please call our office at (805) 648-7223.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

You must make any names changes PRIOR to the event otherwise, we will not be able to give your tickets to someone else.

Will the event be cancelled due to inclement weather? If so, what is the normal protocol?

It is possible that we could experience inclement weather. In this case, the next day is usually reserved to continue the event. In this case, it would be Friday. We try to post any changes as soon as we can on our website (www.venturaraceway.com), our Facebook page (Ventura Raceway), on our direct line (805) 648-7223, and to all ticket purchasers via email through the Event Brite system. We will do our best to get in touch with you to let you know of any changes.
