Description

The Chicago Association of The World War II Veterans, Peter Polsky Freedom Fund and The Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center would like to invite you to be our guest at The Commemoration Ceremony and World War II Victory Day Celebration

The Museum will open its doors to WWII Veterans, Holocaust survivors, Chicago Russian speaking community, and the community at large.

To honor and remember those who courageously fought against nazism and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of future generations.

Programm:

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM - COMMEMORATION CEREMONY & CANDLE LIGHTING CEREMONY

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM - CELEBRATION WITH MUSIC & A SPECIAL "FIELD KITCHEN" MEAL

We are thrilled to share that the keynote speaker of the Commemoration event is Father Patrick Desbois, a French Roman Catholic priest who has led a truly historic undertaking of identifying and examining multiple mass graves of Eastern Europe’s victims of the Holocaust. Father Desbois’ work and research seek to advance historical anthropological, psychological, and legal evidence to educate the public about crimes against humanity, during the Holocaust and in modern history.

Father Desbois’ interview on 60 Minutes can be viewed via this link:
