Description

Before 9/11 there was 12/7. On the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Kansas City proudly welcomes Doolittle Raider veteran, Lt. Col. Dick Cole, USAF (Ret.), and Dr. Dennis R. Okerstrom, author of the acclaimed book Dick Cole’s War for an engaging event.

Cole and Okerstrom will reflect on the impact of Pearl Harbor and the present day meaning of WWII. This powerful and timely commemoration is a partnership with Park University, The National Archives at Kansas City, The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum and The Truman Center at UMKC.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Cash Bar/small plates available beginning at 6:00 p.m. FREE with RSVP | J.C. Nichols Auditorium - This event is currently at capacity, but you can add your name to the wait list.


Lt. Col. Cole will also participate in an event at Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel at Park University at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The event is free and open to the public (no RSVP required). For questions, contact Park University’s Office of External Relations at 816.584.6209.
