Description

It's time! The 2017 72 Hour Shootout filmmaking competition launches the 13th annual Shootout around the world! Join us live in NYC or, via livestream, from anywhere in the world with wifi for our last hurrah before the 8pm EST announcement of the secret THEME of this year's filmmaking competition - upon which all the films must be based! Once the theme is announced, the clock starts ticking and film teams have 72 hours to complete short films of 5 minutes and under. Judges include ABC's Executive Director of Casting and prizes include everything from NBC mentorships to cash. Anyone can compete from anywhere - all you need is access to wifi. Learn more at www.film-lab.org.

Event will feature a performance by musical guest Errmine, the Brooklyn-based solo act of Erin Louise Hoagg, hailing from the dunes of Northern Michigan. A percussionist since 11, Hoagg came to New York City to study the arts and fashion. Hoagg began playing in local Brooklyn bands before she dropped out of college to pursue music full-time. After drumming with local outfits for a year, Hoagg shifted her focus to her practice, performance, and persona as Errmine. With compositions that bring to mind artists like The Soft Moon and The Knife, Errmine has produced a tight-knit soundscape with strands of dissonant, machine-driven beats and ethereal vocals akin to Molly Nilsson. Hoagg's interwoven melodies evoke reveries of bright lights in dark passages, her words spinning the mysteries of romantic entanglement while unravelling betrayal. Hoagg began recording her debut EP in early 2016 in her studio in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Errmine is currently touring locally in NYC.
