Event description

The Orange County Women’s Health Summit is the premier gathering for healthcare, social service, nonprofit, government, academic and other professionals dedicated to women’s health in Orange County.

This year, the Orange County Women’s Health Project is partnering with the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, University of California, Irvine to present the 6th Women’s Health Summit, which will explore how social determinants impact women’s health in Orange County.

Social determinants of health (SDOH) are defined by the World Health Organization as the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and are the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life. These forces and systems include economic policies and systems, development agendas, social norms, social policies and political systems. SDOH are responsible for health inequities – the unfair and avoidable differences in health status within and between communities. According to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, SDOH account for 80% of health outcomes (vs. clinical care at 20%).

Please join us for a day of inspiring presentations and discussion where we will learn how to advance women’s health in our community.
