Event description

Description

Supporting Science Success for Elementary Teachers and Students, S3ETS, is a science professional development for 6th grade teachers. This cohort has mandatory 2 hour meetings once a month, starting in January 2017, and is facilitated by a District Science Coach. This coach will be working with you in your classroom to implement the science instruction you are receiving in the professional development. This cohort runs January 2017 through December 2017. There will be a mandatory summer session June 5-9, 2017 from 8:00-4:00 that requires full attendance and will focus on the NEW SEEd standards. The summer PD has been the highlight of the past two cohorts. You will meet local scientists, participate in field work, conduct experiments and learn new content. This program is funded by a grant in partnership with Genetic Science Learning Center at the University of Utah, and you will receive $1,400 for your participation. Space is limited, so sign up early!
