Event description

Description

"There is very little in our world that is not experiencing rapid change; technology, education, health, and our environment are among them. What is the role of environmental education in our rapidly changing world? How will we prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s world? Join us for an engaging and informative conference to explore the challenges and successes of our colleagues as we all strive for the same result: an environmentally literate society who has the knowledge and skills necessary to implement positive actions for achieving and maintaining a balance between human and environmental systems.

The goal of the 2018 LEEF-SEEA conference is to provide tools and strategies for educators to further their success. We will gather as a community whose intentions are similar and complementary to share our successes, challenges, and collective direction.

This conference is ideal for classroom teachers, nature center, refuge, and park employees, environmental agency personnel, post-secondary students and faculty, and others interested in Florida's environment."

~Barbara Stalbird, Conference Chair

Tips

Before you begin the registration process, please review conference website at https://www.seea-leef2018.com or the draft program (https://www.seea-leef2018.com/schedule) for descriptions of each presentation and field trip. The registration form asks you to select the presentations and field trips you wish to attend but only titles are provided.

If you aren't already, before you register to attend the conference, consider first joining your state's environmental education organization so that you can register and pay the reduced conference rate. Each organization will review the list of those who've registered using the discount code from their state to verify that all are paid members.

To apply the reduced conference rate, once you have hit the "register" button on this page, a window will pop up. The second line of text on this pop up are the words "Enter Promotional Code." Click on these words and you will be prompted to enter the code you received.

The field trips are separate events so please be sure to register for each event you wish to attend.

The Friday and Saturday night socials are free for all who register to attend the conference. We ask that "tickets" be purchased for any guests you may wish to bring. The cost is $20 for each social.

Once registered you will receive an email message from EventBrite that will provide your confirmation of your selections. If you change your mind on any of these selections, you may edit your order yourself by signing back into EventBrite.
