About this Event

Is Managed Care Good or Bad for Missouri? Managed Care is a system of health care in which patients agree to visit only certain doctors & hospitals, and the cost of treatment is monitored by a managing company. While the intent is to reduce costs and better utilize health services, the implementation process can be complicated and difficult. Join us at the Summit to learn how this will affect the I/DD population from the perspective of individuals with disabilities, their families and their service providers. The event includes several nationally recognized speakers on Managed Care

Speaker Bios:

Christina Dupuch plays a key role in oversight of Vaya’s enterprise performance and administration, as well as business and corporate strategy, across the 23 western N.C. counties that Vaya serves. Dupuch has experience leading strategic and operational initiatives to advance Vaya’s key priorities and oversees the organization’s Provider Network and Community Relations departments. Prior to serving at Vaya, Dupuch developed her expertise over 32 years with the state of North Carolina’s Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services (MH/DD/SAS), where she served on the Executive Leadership Team as Implementation Director. Dupuch was the liaison between the Division of MH/DD/SAS and the state’s Division of Medical Assistance for six years, working across all three fields of services and all ages.

Barbara Brent has more than 34 years of experience in publically funded systems for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has worked in state & county government, as well as in the private sector. Before joining NASDDDS, Barbara spent six years as the state director for the Arizona Division of Developmental Disability Services, supporting more than 30,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities, along with their families. She oversaw the state’s acute/medical and long-term care service and support systems designed to help people live successful lives in their Arizona communities through a unique managed care system. She oversaw the administration of over 500 home and community-based service providers, the fiscal intermediary system, acute care contractors, fiscal operations, rate setting, and community partnership initiatives.

Matt Fletcher has spent his career dedicated to health and human services in Kansas, including two decades in support of Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Matt is the Executive Director of InterHab, the Kansas association for providers of community services to persons with I/DD. Matt previously was the Deputy Director of Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) in Lenexa, Kansas, where he was responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery to more than 500 persons with I/DD. Matt oversaw the residential, day, employment and case management program areas of the agency, which encompassed the work of more than 250 employees. Prior to JCDS, Matt served as Associate Executive Director of InterHab, and led grassroots advocacy efforts to improve the lives of Kansans with I/DD.

Val Huhn was selected as the Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities for the Missouri Department of Mental Health effective September 1, 2014. Val began her tenure in 2000 with the Office of Administration, Division of Budget and Planning as a budget and planning analyst. She then moved to the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) where she became Chief of the Office of Governmental Policy. In 2005, she returned to the state’s Division of Budget and Planning to serve as the Section Manager for Health and Human Services before becoming the Division’s Assistant Budget Director.

The ARC of Missouri will host its annual Fall Summit on September 10, 2019, at the Peachtree Banquet Center in Columbia, MO. More than 350 professionals, staff, individuals with disabilities and their families are expected to attend. Please know that in 2018 we heard vendors loud and clear that they wanted to be closer to the attendees to ensure people stopped at the booths. In 2019, the vendor spaces will be in the room with the presenters AND we will allow more time for them to visit your booth!

Gold Level Sponsors: $1,000: Gold level sponsors logo will be displayed in the overhead presentation and printed materials. This includes one six‐foot long display table and 4 tickets to the event. Please provide names of all 4 people who will be using the 4 tickets. Exhibitor table set-up is from 8am to 9:30am day of event.

Silver Level Sponsor: $500: Silver level sponsors logo will be displayed in the event program. This includes one six‐foot long display table with two chairs and 2 tickets to the event. Please provide names of the 2 people who will be using the 2 tickets. Exhibitor table set-up is from 8am to 9:30am day of event.

Exhibitor Space: Business Exhibitor Space: $250; Non‐Profit Organizations Exhibitor Space $150. Fee includes one six‐foot long display table, two chairs, name listed in the program and2 tickets to the event. Please provide the names of both people who will be using the 2 tickets. Exhibitor table set-up is from 8am to 9:30am day of event. Spaces are limited, so be sure to book early.
