Join us for a conversation with this year's exhibit juror, Adria Gunter, Curatorial Assistant at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke.

About this event

Adria Gunter selected the over 90 works of art by 67 regional artists featured in the Durham Art Guild's 67th Annual Juried Exhibition. This exhibition is on view at DAG's SunTrust Gallery from October 7- November 30, 2021.

Join us for an online convesation to learn more about Adria's bacground, her approach to selecting this year's artwork, and some highlights of artworks in the current exhibition. We will also announce her selections for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place awards.

This is a free event with limited capacity but requires advanced registration in order to receive the Zoom link to login. The Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants a few days before or the day before the event.

ABOUT THE JUROR:

Adria Gunter (she/her/hers) is the Curatorial Assistant at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. Recently at the Nasher, Adria organized and led the development of Reading Black Art, an online, non-exhaustive bibliography featuring scholarly resources on Black artists, art history, and visual culture. She is also co-curating two exhibitions at the Nasher, including In Relation to Power: Politically Engaged Work from the Collection, which opens this fall, and Reckoning and Resilience: North Carolina Art Now, which opens early 2022. Adria holds a BA in Art History and Arts Administration from Elon University. Adria is from Atlanta, Georgia, and she is currently based in New York. (pictured below)
