Come celebrate with us! Lexington, Missouri is celebrating 200 years (1822-2022)!

Our 66th Old Homes Tour - Bicentennial Edition will surely be an event to remember!

Brought to you by The Lexington Auditorium and Civic Center. - The LEX.

The main tours take place on Saturday, September 24th and Sunday, September 25th from 11:00am to 5:00pm both days. These tours feature beautiful, historic properties including Historic Lafayette County Courthouse (the oldest continuous used courthouse West of the Mississippi) for an admission price of $25 per person. Included with your ticket purchase is free admission to the Lexington Historical Museum and The Anderson House Museum at the State Historic Site.

Back by popular demand! This year's tour boasts once again an EXCLUSIVE BUNDLED PACKAGE to experience beautiful LINWOOD LAWN. This antebellum mansion (built in 1859) was believed to be the largest and most palatial home west of St. Louis. Enjoy a fancy brunch before the Main Tour begins. Cost per person for the brunch is $40 and includes tax, gratuity, and round trip trolley ride from The LEX to Linwood Lawn. This add on tour begins at 9am on both days. Available only to the first 30 people who purchase tickets for either day, with the purchase of their main tour ticket.

Main tour begins at 11am each day, ends at 5pm

Exclusive Linwood Lawn Add On Experience begins at 9am each day, ends at 10:30am ~ attendees need to arrive at The Lex by 8:30 to pick up their tickets and board the trolley to Linwood Lawn departing promptly from The LEX at 8:45.

Please remember...

The main tour is a self guided tour for you to enjoy at your own pace during the hours available each day. Trolley and/or buses are not available for the main tour.

Tickets for the main tour will be available at the door both days.

Brunch (both days) is expected to sell out.

Homes may be viewed in any order. On street parking near the homes may be limited. Please do not block roads or driveways.

Restrooms are NOT available at the homes. Restrooms are available at The LEX (ticket "will call" location) and at The Battlefield Museum.

Homes are not handicap accessible.

This tour may not be suited for small children. No strollers, no pets, and no smoking please.

Some homeowners may request that guests wear shoe covers and may have certain areas blocked from public view. Please do not touch personal possessions belonging to homeowners.

While on the National Historical Register, this home has undergone extensive renovations and updates since May of 2016. Historical components of the home all left in tact. The updated exterior landscaping beautifully defines this traditional plantation style home. See photo below.

This home was built in 1852 overlooking the Missouri River by Arnold Windsor. It is designed in the Federal Style and is best known as the home of the Hinesley family who lived here from 1895 to 1962. Original pocket doors and 12ft ceilings, this beautiful home is full of charm. See photo below.

The Lafayette County Courthouse is a historic courthouse in Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri. It was built in 1847 and is the oldest courthouse in continuous use west of the Mississippi River. It is well known for the cannonball embedded in the upper left column, a remnant of the Civil War. See photo below.

One of Lexington’s last remaining three story commercial buildings. The brick Greek Revival dates back to the mid 1800’s and has been home to everything from a second floor doctor’s office, to a first floor co-op shop and an old fashioned grocers.

The doors to the store will open once again for the Homes Tour week-end to offer tour goers a genuine taste of the town’s past. See photo below.

Built in 1845 this home is best known as the President's Home for the former Wentworth Military Academy campus. It was on the homes tour more than 30 years ago after undergoing renovations went unoccupied for an extended period time. The current owners saved this home from decay and are happy to share their renovation stories and maybe a ghost story or two with you. See photo below.
