About this Event

Join dancer, choreographer, meditator and yoga teacher Heidi Stonier on this six-week creative movement journey! Taught in a welcoming, interactive atmosphere, Moving with Energy combines the discipline of yoga or dance with the peace of meditation practice, and playfulness of improvisational movement. Over the six weeks, students will learn to connect with their own subtle energy through meditation, and create movement inspired by its flow. Each class starts with a short meditation, leading into a warm-up which combines yoga and dance stretches and strengthening, leading into individual and collective creative movement exercises.
If you’re looking for a chance to get up and get moving this winter while connecting to your spiritual and creative practice - this is a perfect class for you. No prior dance, yoga or meditation experience necessary - all levels very welcome! All classes taught over Zoom.
Please note: This is an interactive class, not a webinar style class! Expect to be in community and communication with your teacher and fellow students. Please sign up early: space is limited.
About the Teacher: Heidi is an artist and educator, whose work offers a holistic approach to the body. Her background in dance, theater, science, yoga and body work, brings a unique perspective to her movement classes. Addressing movement as an integrated expression of the energy that unites body and spirit, sessions facilitate connection to our inner selves and each other as we strengthen the body.
With over 40 years of experience and two Master’s Degrees, one in Dance and one in Education, Heidi has taught extensively and produced scores of original dance performance pieces in theaters, schools and community based organizations in New York City, across the U.S. and in France.
Heidi’s movement workshops build strength and flexibility, challenge the imagination and lift the spirit through the joy of dancing together.
