Join us for yoga instructor Whitney Combs' course series, The Broken Strong. This six week course is designed to start you on a natural path toward healing from depression and anxiety. Each week will engage you in lecture, discussion, Kundalini yoga and meditation designed to move you toward a place of resilience and ease.

The 6-week course is $250 and includes lecture, discussion, and movement towards greater emotional balance.

An individual session is $50.

Classes will be held once a week on Thursdays at 6:00 pm.

WEEK ONE: THE MANY FACETS OF YOU
Thursday, June 29th 6:00pm - 7:30pm

We will look at many of the gifts each of us possess - cognitive, emotional, spiritual and physical - and discuss how increasing our capacity in each of these areas of our lives leads to a greater sense of balance and meaning. We will map out a plan of action to increase your "IQ" in these areas. We will also discuss why meditation and yoga work for increasing our sense of well being and boosting mood. The Kundalini Yoga and Meditation this week focuses on bringing our emotional and mental selves into balance.

WEEK TWO: BECOME A PRIORITY IN YOUR LIFE
Thursday, July 6th 6:00 - 7:30pm

This week is all about you! We will talk about why taking time for yourself is no longer a luxury, but an absolute necessity. You will leave this class with a "toolbox" of practices that you can turn to when feelings of depression and anxiety start to sneak into your life. The Kundalini Yoga and Meditation this week focuses on opening and strengthening your heart space.

WEEK THREE: NON-TRADITIONAL TREATMENT OPTIONS
Thursday, July 13th 6:00 - 7:30pm

This module is dedicated to exploring some of the non-traditional treatment modalities for depression and anxiety. Among others, we will look the Emotional Freedom Technique, or "Tapping" to reduce feelings of depression and anxiety. This technique is based on the premise that negative emotions are a result of disruption in the flow of energy in the body. By tapping on specific places on the body (meridians), we access the body's energy to restore balance to our emotions. You will finish this class with a tapping sequence that you can use throughout your day to lessen stress and anxiety. The Kundalini Yoga and Meditation this week focuses on alleviating feelings of anxiety and stress.

WEEK FOUR: NUTRITION AND SUPPLEMENTS
Thursday, July 20th 6:00 - 7:30pm

This module looks at the profound effect diet has on your mood and energy. We will explore dietary changes that support a healthy neurochemical balance. We will also look at utilizing supplements to support mood. By the end of this module, you will have a list of small dietary changes that you can implement immediately to improve your mood. You will also have the resources you need to make intelligent decisions about what supplements may be right for you. The Kundalini Yoga and Meditation this week will focus on alleviating feelings of depression and sadness.

WEEK FIVE: THE REALM OF THE HUNGRY GHOST
Thursday, July 27th 6:00 - 7:30pm

During this module we will explore our tendency to reach outside of ourselves to find satisfaction. We will explore some of the behaviors that may be blocking you from feeling free...striving for perfection, grasping for the future or the past, unhealthy attachments and addictions. You will finish this module with an understanding of what behaviors you want to change and you will develop a plan to start making those shifts. The Kundalini Yoga and Meditation for this module focuses on balancing your energy and letting go of fear.

WEEK SIX: CREATIVITY, MEANING AND PURPOSE
Thursday, August 3rd 6:00 - 7:30pm

The week is all about calling upon your creative self. We will look at utilizing creative outlets to help you get out of your head and into yourself. We will explore the importance of finding meaning and purpose in your life and work. You will leave this class inspired to express your creative self and pursue your life passion. The Kundalini Yoga and Meditation this week focuses on awakening the creative consciousness within.
