Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this activity the participants should be able to:

• Recognize how to care for adult patients with congenital heart disease; when and where to refer him/her when specific cardiac attention is needed; and what special things to follow closely (like patients after Fontan operation are prone to develop liver disease).

• Recognize how to follow his/her patient with dilated aortic root; how frequently patient needs to be seen and imaged; and when to refer for intervention.

• Identify how to follow his/her patient after Fontan operation to improve their long-term survival and improve quality of life.
