5th Annual Hospital Hustle 5K/1 mile Fun Run/Walk
Sat, May 13, 2017, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM EDT
In support of The Family Birthing Center and promotion of community fitness, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital will host the 5th annual Hospital Hustle 5k and 1 mile fun run/walk on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10 a.m.
The Hospital Hustle is a 5k/1mile FUN run/walk that was originally fostered by the ideas of Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer, Helen Johnson. Helen’s vision was to promote community health through the promotion of employee engagement in physical fitness and fundraising. In the continued efforts to raise awareness for community fitness, the event has grown to included participation of area children involved with Girls on the Run and the Fit Kids program.
To tie in with the support of the Family Birthing Center the run/walk is appropriately held annually on Mother’s Day weekend. The event is designed to be family friendly and geared for runners and walkers of all abilities. We welcome the uses of strollers and friendly pups too!
The Hospital Hustle by design is a flat course that begins and ends in the hospital's south parking lot.
Free-will donations will be accepted during on-line registration as well as the day of the event. Donations will be utilized to provide new mothers of our Family Birthing Center with an infant sleep sack to supports safe infant swaddling and sleeping.
Registration will also be available 09:00-10:00am the morning of the run/walk.
