On April 1, 2017, we will be hosting our 5th Annual Celebrate Recovery Dinner Dance at Mercer Oaks Golf Course in West Windsor, NJ. We are very excited about this event as it truly celebrates those who are in active recovery.
Recovery Advocates of America is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit, peer to peer center that strives to provide education around the disease of addiction, tools to sustain recovery through engagement, and reduce the stigma of addiction in our community.
Our center is instrumental in our community in providing all people suffering from the disease of addiction a safe haven to get treatment options and support through all stages of their recovery. As addiction is a family disease, in addition to helping the addict, we also provide tools and resources for the family in order to best recovery through their own journey.
This year, we are planning to make our Celebrate Recovery Dinner Dance, the best it has ever been. All proceeds for this event will go directly into the organization’s client care fund. This fund assists in making the transition from active addiction into recovery as seamless as possible. In many cases, we use our client care fund to cover transport costs (either by flight or by car), meals for clients, toiletries, overnight fees, medical costs, and sometimes even clothing for indigent clients. In 2014, we spent over $55,000. In 2015, we spent over $80,000. In 2016, we also spent over $100,000. Currently, we are trending to spend over $120,000 for the year ending in 2017. The number continues to increase due to the number of people seeking help. The ability to have access to this fund is crucial to the sustainability of our organization. We do not receive a profit for the work that we do. All funds go directly back into helping others.
