We're also excited to experience your talent in our first ever Talent Showcase as well as much, much more! This event will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 7PM-1AM. Q.) Is this event open for anyone to attend?
A.) The 5th Annual Caribbean Extravaganza is a fundraiser for the HEAR Transition Home in Haiti. This event is open to ANYONE, over the age of 18, who purchases a ticket in advance OR at the door; HOWEVER, this is a family event, and all guest are expected to dress and conduct themselves accordingly. For those who choose not to, we reserve the right to ask them to leave (no refund). Thank you for your understanding.
Q.) Will there be food and refreshments
A.) Yes. The Caribbean Extravaganza is a celebration of Caribbean heritage and culture, including food!! We'll be partnering with a local Caribbean vendor that will cater a generous and diverse selection of hors d’oeuvres for our event, and we anticipate having more than enough for those in attendance, so come ready to enjoy Caribbean cuisine!
Q.) Will you have any vegan/vegetarian food options?
A.) We'll have an amazing food selection, including 3 different salads and an assorted fruit platter. Please do keep in mind this is a Caribbean event, and the food selection will reflect that. Thanks for understanding.
Q.) Will there be alcohol at this event.
A.) No, we will not be serving alcohol. Please leave your drinks at home :-). Thanks for understanding.
Q.) Is parking available? If so, is it free?
A.) Our venue, the African American Museum in Philadelphia, has a parking lot with a capacity for over 250 attendees. The fee for the parking lot is $6 per vehicle. We encourage you to use the parking lot of the venue, however, metered street parking is available as well. Lastly, if you prefer a parking garage, that option is available too, as our venue is in downtown Philadelphia. Since it's in downtown, taking a bus or train are both viable and hassle free options as well, particularly if your housing accommodations are in the city.
Q.) Is this event for Singles only?
A.) The 5th Annual Caribbean Extravaganza is a fundraiser. Anyone, single, married, student, etc., should feel free to attend the event, if they're over the age of 18.
Q.) Are you coordinating housing for those coming from out of town?
A.) Our planning team is focusing our full attention on our fundraising efforts and preparing an amazing event for those who will be participating. You should feel free to reach out to anyone you know in Philadelphia you'd like to stay with, including members of the GPCC (gpcc.org); however, our team is not coordinating housing for those who will be coming in from out of town. Q.) Is there a suggested attire?
A.) The 5th Annual Caribbean Extravaganza is a celebration of Caribbean culture. As such, African and Caribbean attire are welcomed and encouraged. Whatever you decide to wear, dress to impress. No white T's permitted. Thanks for understanding.
