Event Details

“Because you never know when the day before ... Is the day before.

Prepare for tomorrow.”  Bobby Akart

This year's forum will focus on house of worship safety.  This is an opportunity for leaders to:

  • Learn how to address active shooter scenarios

  • Strengthen partnerships and relationships with one another

  • Hear a Pastor's experience and lessons learned from the Northpark Elementary School Shooting

Senator Mike Morrell and Building Resilient Communities invite faith, community, goverment, business and education leaders to come together to discuss how to make our houses of worship and communities safer.

Building Resilient Communities

Building Resilient Communities is a public benefit nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. We provide education and training programs for community and faith based organizations in the areas of disaster preparedness and business start up.

Disaster Preparedness education and training includes our Ark of Safety program which helps community and faith based organizations get prepared for a disaster and, encourages the families and communities they serve to do the same. Our Community and Faith Based Coalition is a network of organizations willing to act as central points of safety, refuge, and support for their communities during and after a disaster. Our Community Partnership Program is the collaboration of public and private business, responder and government agencies as well as community and faith based organizations for an integrated approach to preparation, response and recovery within communities.
