Event description
Join us for a screening of 5B, the inspirational story of the heroes of San Francisco General's Ward 5B, the nation's first AIDS unit.

About this Event

Don't miss the screening of 5B, hosted by Thrive Health Connection, formerly Good Samaritan Project.

Directly following the screening, we will hold a panel discussion about the film, HIV/AIDS care, and managing stigma within our communities.

Light refreshments will be provided.

5B is the inspirational story of everyday heroes, nurses and caregivers who took extraordinary action to comfort, protect and care for the patients of the first AIDS ward unit in the United States. 5B is stirringly told through first-person testimony of these nurses and caregivers who built Ward 5B in 1983 at San Francisco General Hospital, their patients, loved ones, and staff who volunteered to create care practices based in humanity and holistic well-being during a time of great uncertainty. You can watch the trailer here.

This event is free to the community, however, donations are accepted through Eventbrite and at the door. Please be sure to RSVP. Space is limited.

This event is wheelchair accessible.
