The purpose of this event is to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of Dr. King's death by remembering and elevating the ideas for which he stood for.
The theme of this event is "Dr. King and His Music," which is a theme which addresses the divide that now exists throughout our nation.
The featured musical artists are five-time Grammy award winning artists, The Blind Boys of Alabama, who have performed at the World’s Fair, the New Orleans Jazz Festival and throughout Europe and the United States. They have received Pulitzer and Tony Awards, and have been honored by the National Endowment of the Arts.
