Synopsis: If you are keen to venture into the world of long distance or uLTRa running, our guided 50km is a great way to start. Spend the day being guided through some truly fantastic Ribble Valley trails. As always the emphasis is on taking in where and who you're running with, as opposed to simply just running for a finishing time.
Route: This intricate & undulating 50km route is split into 2x25km routes:
Stage 1 - 25km features include:
Longridge Fell (See event photo)
Over Hacking Wood
Stage 2 - 25km features include:
Lower Hodder Bridge
Dean Clough Reservoir
This special day is not to be underestimated, as such we have implemented a few contingincies for those who may not complete the full 50km. Along the route there will be three stocked check points where those who are struggling to maintain their pace will be able to cut their day short (transportation back to the start will be waiting). A slightly longer stop is factored in at the end of the 1st 25km for hot drinks, some real food & a comfort break.
Each runner that completes the full 50km route will receive a unique Love Trail Running uLTRa T-shirt.
Notes: Our uLTRa is aimed at extremely keen and conditioned trail runners, those who are comfortable running for hours on the trails at a steady pace. If you've not previously been on one of our Regular or longer runs please contact us for more information on the fitness requirements to book onto our 'uLTRa'. There is a cut-off time for our check points so it's important the group maintains the steady pace set by the guide throughout the day. We cannot guarantee you will be able to complete the entire route - if you cannot maintain the pace of the group, the lead guide may be required to arrange a pick-up to get you back to the start..
Hydration & Fuelling: Runners will need to carry their own hydration packs & some food but we will provide some extra drinks and food half at three checkpoints around the route.
Footwear: Trail running shoes are essential as nearly all of the route is off-road. We recommend a towel and a full change of shoes/clothes for after the run.
Clothing: Specialist clothing may be required, be prepared & dress appropriately to the weather conditions of the day.
Meeting: Studiorama, Blackburn BB1 9SB
Parking: Parking is available at the rear of the Brownhill Arms.
WC: Is available at Studiorama prior to the run.
Please note there are only 20 tickets available for this LTR.
