Description

Join us at a special exhibition of photographs of the fateful day in Bratislava by Ladislav Bielik and a screening of a documentary film Dubček 70 (Sedemdesiatnik Alexander Dubček, 24 min.,1991, English subtitles). In the interview made one year before his tragic death, the 70-year old Dubček reflects on events that affected his personal journey as one of the protagonists of the “Prague Spring.” An accompanying exhibition Dubček will also be on display.

Organized by the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences (SVU-NY in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York.

Free and open to the public.

Please note: This is a joint venue with the Czech Center.

The Czech Center‘s program will start at 7pm by an opening of a photo exhibit August 21 on the second fl. and a screening of a film. (TBA) The film will be looped in the cinema on the ground floor.

Light wine and beer reception will be on the 3rd fl.
