Description

Get started. Get unstuck. Get writing.

5 Secrets to Freeing Your Voice is a 3-hour seminar with writing prompts and important questions focused on not just finding your voice as a writer, but freeing your voice, so you can be heard and be seen by your potential clients. Create a custom writing practice to help you find your audience—or better, help your audience find you—with authentic, vulnerable, and powerful writing.

You can write.

Learn how to build confidence to build momentum from a former journalist who had to write on deadline every day. Set in the Taborspace library on Belmont, you'll feel like a writer as soon as you walk in the door. Connect with others as you embark on your journey as a writer—maybe even on your path to published author. And discover how self-compassion can help you on those not-so-productive writing days.

This seminar is the base of all good writing. This seminar is different from what you'll get from most writing workshops. For starters, we begin with you. We also focus on growth. In combination with writing prompts that help you build your skills as a writer and build momentum, you are asked specific questions that will help you clarify just what it is you want to get from your writing, and then what tools you need to accomplish it. We do not critique, but I do ask you to analyze. You will not get what you need out of simple "sit down and write for an hour" workshops if you do not focus on the questions and answers you'll get out of this seminar first.

What you'll walk away with after this workshop:

  • Know Yourself: Explore your identity as a writer
  • Know Your Why: Know your purpose, intention, and goals for writing
  • Know Your Lie: Explore the obstacles that are holding you back
  • Write Your Truth: Create a framework that is honest and specific to YOU
  • Just Write: Tools and practices to help you get started and evolve as a writer

This seminar is for you if:

  • You are a leader of change or a disrupter in your field.
  • You are a women entrepreneur who's ready to expand your audience.
  • You have decades of life and work experience and know that what you've learned will save others time and sometimes heartache.
  • You have been making writing goals year after year and are finally ready to reach them.
  • You have a big writing project coming up (a book, a new website, content marketing development, an email campaign) and you don't know where to start.
  • You started writing your Big Brilliant Idea—and now you're stuck.

If you don’t know yourself, you have nothing to write.

Find your truth, and tell it—THAT is writing.

"Know Thyself; Nothing in Excess" —Delphi Oracle

I work with women entrepreneurs who have something important to say, and who say it through artful, poetic, and powerful words. This is not a write-it-in-a-weekend or get-rich-quick writing program. This is unapologetic writing at its fullest. The timid need not apply.
