Event description

Description

Teach 4th graders about STEM topics using hands-on projects about kinetic and potential energy, denisty, polymers and circuits! GradSWE is coordinating this 4 week outreach program at Erikson Elementary School. Once a week on Mondays, our volunteer team will visit a 4th grade class and lead a science/engineering project for an hour. The projects are already crafted and ready-to-go, we just need volunteers to make it happen! Check out one of the projects from last year -- Bristle Bots.

Volunteer training: November 10th, time TBD

Volunteering at Erikson Elementary: Mondays, 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm on November 13th, 20th, 27th and December 4th

Additional details: Training and orientation will be held on November 10th at a time that is best for all volunteers that sign up (please let us know your availability on the RSVP form). Background checks are required and we will get them run for you. It is expected that all volunteers will attend all 4 sessions and the training session. Supplies will also be distributed at the orientation session.

If you have any questions please contact Caymen Novak at cmnovak@umich.edu.
