Event description

Description

This year, Transplant Community Alliance celebrates 30 years of providing transplant support services and financial assistance to all organ transplant recipients and their families.

As the only nonprofit in Arizona that helps recipients and their families as they adjust to life after transplant and embrace wellness to its fullest, Transplant Community Alliance invites you to attend our 4th Annual Wine & Dine fundraising event on February 23, 2019, sponsored by Ashley O'Neill & Patricia O'Neill.

All proceeds benefit transplant recipients needing financial assistance. Last year, Transplant Community Alliance provided financial support to 26 of the 1,100 Arizonans who received transplants. Your support will allow us to increase the number of people we serve and the amount of assistance we can provide for each. In 2018, we have had over 80 recipients apply for assistance!

Event attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about how Transplant Community Alliance’s critical financial support positively impacts Arizona recipients and their families.

St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Monastery, 4784 N St Joseph's Way, Florence. St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery was established in 1995 in the desert near the city of Florence, Arizona, about 80 miles from Phoenix. The monastery was established after an active Greek-American Orthodox community in the area invited six Athonite monks from Greece. Under the instruction of Elder Ephraim, the monks started building churches, guest rooms, living quarters, and dining rooms and planting extensive, lush gardens in what was originally an isolated, desolate part of the Sonoran Desert. The monastery today serves a Greek Orthodox community in central Arizona and is home to more than 40 monks. Visitors, Orthodox and non-Orthodox, are welcomed to tour the monastery, attend church activities, and tour the garden. They are asked to dress “appropriately and modestly” according to the guidelines available on the monastery’s website.
