You can walk a few miles, or stroll to a chair in the shade and enjoy the music. Early morning August in Bakersfield is a lovely time of day, and we welcome your presence to bring increased awareness of Valley Fever to our community. Light refreshments available. Murray Farms will be there with fruit. It will be reasonably cool at 8:00 and we are done by 9:30.

Your attendance could save your life or the life of a loved one. Information will be available to help you recognize the symptoms of Valley Fever. Early diagnosis is critical to recovery.
Information will also be available on vaccine developments and research on a possible cure. David Larwood, CEO of the company developing Nikkomycin Z will be there. Any funds collected in excess of the cost of the event will be contributed towards getting NikZ to human clinical trials.
The gate will open with registration at 7:00 a.m. Activities available before and after the walk include a "selfie" photo opportunity in the Havilah Jail doing time for "fighting the fever", face painting, and a spin the wheel facts game. There will also be a raffle with great prizes and a sales table with Valley Fever items.
Your attendance is so important. We can't do it without you!
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? We welcome all ages and walking abilities. You can walk or stroll or sit! It all counts for us.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? The museum has a parking lot, Street parking is also available.
What can/can't I bring to the event? NO dogs this year. No pets allowed this year due to new rules at the museum, but there will be veterinarians present to respond to questions you may have.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? no, we will have pre-registration lists at the tables. Please note, no entry to the event prior to gates opening at 7:00 am.
What is the refund policy? No refunds. If you are unable to attend, your ticket will be considered a donation.
