Are you looking for a rewarding career in public service? Attend the 4th Annual Ohio Department of Commerce Career Fair on Friday, June 22 to learn how, by working for Commerce, you can achieve your best, and help keep Ohioans safe, sound and secure.

Registration for the Career Fair is free and the event runs 9-3 at the Ohio State Fire Marshal's office in Reynoldsburg. At the fair, you’ll have the chance to network with state agencies that are hiring at the Vendor Fair and attend Career Workshops designed to help you find and excel in a career in public service.

Doors open at 8:45 a.m. for the Career Workshops and 9 a.m. for the Vendor Fair. All Attendees will need to show a government-issued ID (driver's license, state ID, passport, etc.) at the door.

Schedule of events:

9 -3 – Career Workshops: Workshops are approximately one hour and begin at 9, 10:30, 1 and 2:30

    • Applying for a State Job: Learn the steps to setting up your profile and applying for positions on the State of Ohio Job Opportunities websit
    • Resume Writing: Get tips and tricks for “selling yourself” on paper

    • Interviewing Tips: Learn techniques that will impress interviewers and land you that job

    • DISC: Know Your Communication Strengths: Explore your communication preferences and how you can more effectively communicate with others

9 - 3 – Vendor Fair: Network with state agencies that are hiring

Lunch is on your own. There are many dining options in the area, and several food trucks will be on site.

Registration:

New this year, we have pre-registration available that will allow for quicker entry and hold your spot in the Career Workshops.

To register:

  1. Click on the green REGISTER button.

  2. Register for general admission. Select “1” under “Registration for 2018 Career Fair.”

    1. If you are registering for more than one person, select the total number of people you’re registering.

    2. Register for Career Workshops. Plan which workshops you want to attend and at what time. Scroll through the list and select “1” next to the workshop name and time you prefer.

      1. If you are registering for more than one person, be sure to include them when selecting the number of people. Please note, you don’t have to register for the same workshops and times; if your schedules will be different, register everyone by selecting the appropriate number of people for each workshop and time.

      2. Click on the green CHECKOUT button.

      3. Fill in your contact information and click on the green COMPLETE REGISTRATION button.

Seats are limited and workshops fill up quickly, so register early!
