Join hundreds of women this November 5 and attend the fourth annual Sisterhood Of Salaam Shalom Muslim Jewish Women's Leadership Conference at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey as we celebrate Rising Up Against Hate!

Doors open at 8:00 AM for sign-in and coffee hour. The conference will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.

During this transformative day, you will:

  • Connect & engage with other Muslim and Jewish sisters from all around the US,
  • Participate in your choice of 25 workshops facilitated by leaders in interfaith dialogue end engagement
  • Learn from the Muslim and Jewish leaders who are rising up against hate
  • Develop skills in order to become a stronger advocate of building relationships between Muslims and Jews, and
  • Learn what you can do to stop anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish acts of hate.

Join us for inspiring keynote presentations from:

Anita Diamant gives voice to women's narratives. She is the bestselling author of fiction and non-fiction books. She has published five novels, the most recent of which is The Boston Girl, a New York Times bestseller, and is best known for her 1997 novel, The Red Tent, also a New York Times bestseller and recently made into a miniseries for television.

Dr. Ingrid Mattson is an Islamic studies scholar, a Muslim religious leader, an interfaith activist and a leading voice for interfaith engagement. Mattson is a former president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), is recognized as an advocate for Muslim women as religious leaders and was described as “Perhaps the most noticed figure among American Muslim women” in a 2010 New York Times article.

Haroon Moghul is a commentator, broadcaster, author and Muslim-Jewish interfaith advocate. He is a Senior Fellow and Director of Development at the Center for Global Policy, and the Muslim Leadership Initiative Facilitator at the Shalom Hartman Institute. Haroon has appeared on all major media networks and has been published at Washington Post, TIME, CNN, Guardian, Foreign Policy and Haaretz, among others. He's the author of a novel, The Order of Light (Penguin 2006), and a new memoir, How to be a Muslim: An American Story (Beacon 2017).

Rana Abdelhamid is the founder of the International Muslim Women’s Initiative for Self-Empowerment, a grassroots organization that offers self-defense classes and teaches leadership skills. Abdelhamid has been featured in the Huffington Post, Elle.com, Mic.com, CBS and PBS. Rana has organized around human rights issues with Amnesty International on campaigns related to women’s rights, torture and the Arab Spring. She is a recipient of the 2015 UNAUSA Leo Nevas Human Rights Youth Award, the Harry S. Truman Scholarship and the Running Start Rising Political Star

Dean Obdelliah is an award winning comedian who has appeared on ABC's "The View," Comedy Central's "Axis of Evil" Comedy special and is the co-creator and co-producer of Comedy Central.com's critically acclaimed Internet series "The Watch List," featuring a cast of all Middle Eastern-American comedians performing stand up and sketch comedy. Dean has also appeared on numerous international and national programs including CNN's "American Morning" and "The Situation Room," PBS' "Newshour with Jim Lehrer," Air America Radio, "Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen," ABC News, HD's "Dan Rather Reports," NPR, Fox News Radio, ABC's "20/20," "Al Jazeera," "Democracy Now with Amy Goodman" and CNN International's "Inside the Middle East." In addition, he has been featured in numerous publications including Time magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times and is a contributor to CNN. He is the host of SiriusXM Progress' The Dean Obeidallah Show, which is the only daily national radio show hosted by a Muslim American

Film Screening

Conference participants will have a chance to screen the film Of Many and meet with Rabbi Yehuda Sarna, Imam Khalid Latif, Chelsea Garbell and Linda G. Mills.
