The 4th annual Minneapolis Trans* Equity Summit, hosted by the City of Minneapolis in collaboration with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, will take place Thursday, September 28 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis.

This year the Summit will begin at 9 a.m. Doors open and light refreshments will be available beginning at 8 a.m.

This year’s focus is on health and history, with breakout sessions on meeting health care needs, being an ally, health care laws, public policy and more. Community members and organizations interested in learning about and furthering transgender equity, are encouraged to attend.

The Summit will include:

  • A keynote address by Precious Brady-Davis, an award winning diversity advocate, communications professional and public speaker.

  • Findings of the U.S. Transgender Survey, presented by the National Center for Transgender Equality.

  • An opportunity to meet members of the City’s newly appointed advisory board, the Transgender Equity Council.

This event is free and open to the public, and a box lunch is included. Register today!

8 a.m. - doors open

9 a.m. - welcome, presentation of U.S. Transgender Survey results, keynote address

11 a.m. - concurrent breakout sessions

12:15 p.m. - lunch

1:15 p.m. - concurrent breakout sessions

2:30 p.m. - closing plenary panel: Transgender History and The Future of Gender

4 p.m. - Summit concludes, followed by optional reception
