Event description

Description

Join us for the Muslim-Jewish Solidarity Committee's 4th Annual Iftar in a Synagogue, and celebrate the beauty of Ramadan inside NYC's largest synagogue.

This year we will come together—as Muslims, Jews, and allies—to embrace our common humanity, stand with those impacted by all forms of violence and oppression, and reflect on our role in creating more peace in the world.

Featured Speakers:

Sabeeha Rehman, author of Threading My Prayer Rug: One Woman's Journey from Pakistani Muslim to American Muslim

Ruth Messinger, former President/CEO of American Jewish World Service

Robina Niaz, Founder & Executive Director of Turning Point for Women and Families

Our Co-Hosts:

Temple Emanu-El

The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding

Peace Islands Institute

We'll also have an organization fair where you will be able to hear from representatives of organizations who work with survivors of violence about their work and ways in which you can get involved.

A kosher and halal iftar meal will be served at the time the fast ends.
