48th Ave. Median Meadow Care with NCA
Event Information
About this event
Love plants? Love LIC? Join Newtown Creek Alliance and Hunters Point Parks Conservancy and the neighbors to care for the 48th Ave Median Meadows! These pollinator supporting gardens were planted in the fall of 2020 in collaboration and partnership with PS/IS 78 and Hunters Point Community Middle School to provide habitat for the local ecology and provide opportunities for the community to come together to celebrate and learn about urban ecology.
We will provide gloves, tools, safety vests, and guidance on how to help care for the new urban meadows.
Light snacks and water will be provided.
Plan ahead for the event: We recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothes, sturdy shoes, and bringing your own water bottle and sunscreen. There are no bathrooms on site but plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Do not attend if you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19.
