The Board of the Thomas Merton Center has selected Frida Berrigan as the recipient of the 2016 Thomas Merton Award which will be presented at a dinner on Monday, November 14 at the Sheraton at Station Square. Frida Berrigan is a columnist for Waging Nonviolence and the author of "It Runs in the Family: On Being Raised by Radicals and Growing into Rebellious Motherhood." Frida is the daughter of Phil Berrigan and Elizabeth McAllister. She lives in New London, Conn. with her husband Patrick and their three children. The award event will be an opportunity to not only honor Frida and focusing on the work of “Waging Peace”, but also, remember the recent passing of her uncle, Fr. Dan Berrigan and the legacy of her courageous family.
