Brush off your bowlers and prepare your petticoats as Galveston Historical Foundation presents the 43rd annual Dickens on The Strand. Held the first weekend in December, the annual festival is a holiday tradition with great family programming, live entertainment, special events and more.
The annual holiday street festival, based on 19th-century Victorian London, features parades, non-stop entertainment on six stages, strolling carolers, roving musicians, bagpipers, jugglers and a host of other entertainers. Costumed vendors peddle their wares from street stalls and rolling carts laden with holiday food and drink, Victorian-inspired crafts, clothing, jewelry, holiday decorations and gift items.
Tickets are non-refundable.
For the safety and comfort of our attendees, pets, ice chests, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, skates, Segways and other recreational “wheels” are forbidden.
Tickets are non-refundable. Children 6 and under are admitted free. Tickets for special events must be purchased in advance. The festival is open rain or shine. GHF is not responsible for independent transactions between visitors and vendors. Parking is available on many streets, lots and parking garages within easy walking distance of the festival.
We are committed to making Dickens on The Strand special needs accessible. If we can assist with arrangements, we encourage you to contact us at 409-765-3404 in advance of your visit.
