Event description

Description

The 42nd Sierra Century is presented by the Sacramento Wheelmen. This year's Sierra Century offers five routes for the seasoned cyclist that start/end at the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth. The event is limited to 1500 riders, so sign up early.

Routes:

The 41er Tour (41 miles, 3200 ft. elevation gain) For those riders looking for a ride shorter and with less climbing than the Metric Century or the 69er Challenge.

Metric Century (65 miles, 4500 ft. elevation gain) Follows the Classic Century route to Ione and continues on to Sutter Creek, Volcano, Daffodil Hill, and Fiddletown.

The 69er Challenge (69 miles, 6,000 ft. elevation gain) Heads straight to Fiddletown and arrives at the base of Slug Gulch Road at mile 24, instead of mile 77 on the two longer routes.

The Classic Century (102 miles, 7800 ft. elevation gain) Follows the Metric Century route to Fiddletown and continues up to Mt. Aukum, Fair Play and Slug Gulch before returning to Plymouth through the Shenandoah Valley.

The Double Metric Century (122 miles, 9,600 ft. elevation gain) Follows the Classic Century route to the top of Slug Gulch and adds an extra loop with additional climbing before returning to the Fairgrounds.

All rides are fully supported by rest and water stops, SAG vehicles, bicycle mechanics, flaggers, law enforcement personnel, and a large corps of volunteers. For more details about the routes, including elevation changes, go to www.sierracentury.org.

The ride will be held rain or shine. NO REFUNDS. However, you will be able to transfer your registration without charge.
