The workshop is jam packed with incredible instruction, tips, guidance, and extensive on camera time. The actors in the current workshop are loving it have seen amazing growth. The studio has a large big screen television and all of the actors watching the other scenes are able to see the actors on screen as well as watching them perform the scene live. It gives you a really good perspective while watching the other scenes. You can see what works and what does not work in terms of being truthful on television. Sometimes it is hard to see that in person versus watching it on television.
The workshop is a ton of fun as well because it is a progressive journey through an actors life from an audition to rehearsing scenes to fully filmed scenes professionally directed with close ups and master shots.
Here is a quick breakdown,
Week 1: You show up and it is treated exactly like an audition (cold read). You pick a scene from film. The sides are there for you to rehearse. You spend 15 to 20 minutes memorizing the lines and then you sign in and he calls you into the room one by one to film and record your audition. After everyone has auditioned you then participate in a bunch of group activities to help you as an actress. A self marketing expert for actors is on hand to give you some ideas and ways to better advertise yourself as an actor.
Week 2: You have a scene and sides from a script given to you several days in advance as the character you auditioned for in week 1. You will perform the scene on camera and then are given adjustments and some other options to consider with the character and a 2nd run through of the scene is performed. A professional casting director is on hand as well and will watch all the actors perform. You are able to bring a Headshot and resume and exchange information. In this current workshop one of the actors has already been brought in for a role she is currently casting.
Week 3: You perform your scene again on camera incorporating all of the adjustments you worked on in week 2. David gives you expert instruction and really helps you to fully understand the character and think about your physical choices and movements to be truthful and have a captivating performance on camera. He films your scene with close ups from two different angles. An agent is in class watching all actors perform and if you are able to give him your information as well.
Week 4: This session is treated exactly like you arrive on a film set. Your scene is fully filmed with close ups, and a master shot professionally directed.
David is set to direct two theatrically released features films this summer and next year including the 6.1M feature film Descention! He has permission from the writers to showcase select scenes from the films in his workshop. You are working on films that have not been shot yet. He is helping you develop the characters into what he is looking to film. This give you unique insight to working with a director and his vision for the films. He has a habit of casting actors from his workshops for his feature films so you may have an opportunity to work with him on one of the films or some of his commercials in the future. (Not a guarantee but a great possible bonus).
David is an incredibly giving and respectful person who really cares about helping other succeed. You will gain a tremendous amount of growth with your acting and meet with a lot of industry professionals throughout the workshop. I know this wiling and beneficial class for you.

Here are what a couple of actors have said during his current worskhop,
I am really thrilled over this class and just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to be part of it. It is only the second week and I've already learned so many invaluable things about my trade; my passion. You and David have been super awesome, so thank you for being so real with everyone. The industry needs more people like you. Best regards, Michael Wilts
Anyone contemplating attending David Rountree’s Workshop, think no more! I have taken many of his workshops over the years and each one is not only educational, it is fun, fulfilling, entertaining, and inspiring. David teaches from real world experiences, because he really works in the field! Not only that but I know first hand that David uses students from his classes on films he is currently working on! (Bonus!) He understands actors fears, and helps prepare each actor for REAL LIFE, whether it be auditions, meetings or being on set. I was lucky enough to meet David years ago, and he has continued to be not only a teacher, but a mentor and a friend. His classes are interactive and challenging for actors of all levels. He respects everyone and has a great way of teaching by letting each actor be involved. You can expect to get up and work for the majority of the class! Woo Hoo! Also, you can’t beat the price. He is a solid guy in knowing that actors want to learn and progress but can’t always afford the big bucks certain “classes” demand. Sign up for his class and you will leave there a more relaxed, focused and committed actor. - Kristin Vahl
I hope you are able to join us in his next workshop.
