• Develop a greater sense of resilience by recovering more quickly from challenging events

The Mindfulness and Stress Reduction course is designed to give you the foundational tools to reduce stress and develop a mindfulness meditation practice.  This course provides many of the core components of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) without having to commit to an 8 week class.  

Course includes:

  • 4 weekly sessions (8 hours of instruction/guided practices)
  • All-Day Retreat 6 hours of instruction/guided practices) 
  • Weekly emails with home practices
  • MP3 Guided Meditations that are yours to keep
  • Additional support by phone, email or text to work with challenges

Mindfulness & Stress Reduction:

Classes: Tuesdays May 21st-June 11th 645p-845p

Retreat: June 1st 10a-4p @ Myers Park Presbyterian Church

The course is on a sliding scale: (I was only able to create one purchase price, so the course is listed as $225, however if you need to pay more or less, just send a direct message at jude@akeenmind.com) 

Low Income: $125

Medium Income: $225

High Income: $325

It is important to review the 4-week orientation before registering for the class, so you have an understanding of what to expect in the course. 

If you register and pay for the course and decide to cancle at least 7 days prior to the event you will receive a full refund minus a $15 processing fee as this is the amount I am charged  through eventbrite. You are welcome to call me directly at 843-364-5921 so I can take your credit card information over the phone.  This way your processing fee would be $7 dollars for refunds and I would save $7 in fees:)

Jude Johnson, MA, LMFT

Jude became interested in mindfulness while working in an alternative school with at-risk youth. There he developed a passion for mindfulness and meditation because of the positive transformations he experienced personally and observed in these youth. Since 2012, he has taught weekly mindfulness groups to adults in order to help people effectively discover a greater sense of ease and peace of mind. He has taught Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and provided mindfulness trainings to mental health professionals, schools, and businesses interested in improving well-being. Jude has completed extensive training on MBSR, attended a variety of professional mindfulness trainings, and participated in several silent retreats. Practicing mindfulness is an integral part of his daily life as this practice has been found to be personally nourishing and essential to teaching mindfulness in an authentic manner.
