Event description

Description

The sixth annual 4 Bridges Ride sponsored by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is a 26-mile charity ride that allows cyclists an opportunity to cross the Verrazzano, Pell, Sakonnet and Mt. Hope Bridges connecting the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The event will be held on September 15, 2019 starting in North Kingstown and finishing on the campus of Roger Williams University in Bristol.

This is a not-for-profit charitable event. All proceeds from the 4 Bridges Ride will benefit Save The Bay in support of their mission to protect our vital waterways.

All participants are required to register prior to the event, wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws throughout the course. While strict safety measures are in place throughout the course, no roads will be closed to traffic during this ride.

All riders must be registered, including both tandem bicycle participants. Ther minimum age requirement is 10 years old and we do not allow bike seats or bike trailers.

A 26 mile ride of this nature requires tremendous planning and the cooperation of all seven communities, their police departments, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, R.I. State Police and from all participants and volunteers. Please read the following details carefully before registering.
