  • Tony’s Place in Evanston (specific address supplied upon purchase of a ticket)
  • Need at least 8 participants to qualify as a review party

What is a Review Cuddle Party?

It is a Cuddle Party in which the participants review or evaluate the cuddle party facilitator as they proceed on their path to becoming a certified Cuddle Party Facilitator. One must have three such reviews - and this my third and final one. So, it is my opportunity to be evaluated by some of the most wonderful people in the world, You, the cuddle party participants. It is also a chance for me to continue to learn, develop, examine and grow my cuddle party facilitator chops in the company of great souls and spirits. For this, I must say “Thank you” for your past and present support.

So, for those who don’t know, “What the heck is a Cuddle Party anyway?”

A Cuddle Party is an event that allows adults to experience the deep and positive effects of non-sexual, healing touch in an intentional space that is structured around giving and receiving consent and discovering and creating our boundaries.

Well, what does that mean?

We believe it means that touching and being touched by other human beings under the right circumstances is really good for you! Science tells us that from the day we are born, human beings need touch and affection to lead emotionally, mentally and spiritually fulfilling and happy lives. Conscious and intentional touching produces a hormone called Oxytocin, some of the benefits of which are:
• lowers blood pressure
• reduced stress on the nervous system
• positive benefits to your emotional health
• increased ability to connect with and trust people
• increased ability to respect and care for yourself
• boosts of clarity and energy to your creative self
• increases to your sense of safety, comfort, and belonging

How does the event unfold? Well, the first hour consists of what is called the “Opening Circle,” a conversation on what “consent and boundaries” will look like at the Cuddle Party. Through this exercise participants gain:

  • A Level of nurturing and support not easily found in life
    • Clarity and confidence in intimate interaction with others
    • Boundary and communication skills
    • Comfort, support and encouragement
    • Skills that can translate to everyday life

Cuddle Party Timeline:

1:00pm - Doors Open
1:00pm - 1:30pm - Arrival, check in, change into comfy cuddle attire, nibble at the snack table, say hi to familiar and new faces

ETIQUETTE:
Arrive on time: Once we begin the Welcome Circle Cuddle orientation the doors will close and no one else will be admitted. This creates comfort and Accountability by ensuring that everyone has heard the rules and expectations and has agreed to them.

What are the Cuddle Party rules?
1. Pajamas stay on the whole time
2. You don't have to touch anyone at a Cuddle Party, ever.
3. You must ask permission and receive a verbal YES before you touch anyone. (Be as specific in your request as possible.)
4. If you are a yes, say YES. If you are a no, say NO.
5. If you are a maybe, say NO,
6. You are encouraged to change your mind.
7. Respect your relationship agreements and communicate with your partner.
8. Get the Cuddle Party Facilitator if you have a question, concern, or need assistance.
9. Tears and laughter are both welcome.
10. Respect people's privacy when sharing about Cuddle Party.
11. Keep the cuddle space tidy.

These are explained in greater detail in the “Opening Circle.”

What to wear: Pajamas or sweats - nothing too risqué. Think comfy, not sexy. What to bring: Non-alcoholic beverages and/or snacks to share. Cuddle accessories (e.g., a favorite pillow, blanket, stuffed animals, etc.).

Please note: please refrain from wearing fragrances, or other strong scents (soaps, powders). Also, there is a dog and cat on the premises but they do not occupy the cuddle, changing or toilet areas. They may be near the kitchen and snacks area.

Once again, it is my 3rd of 3 Review Cuddle Parties. 8 participants at least needed. Your support, input and participation as part of our Cuddle Party Tribe will be most appreciated. Thank you.
